WOW..how fast they grow..but what blessings!!

We realize we aren't guaranteed tomorrow so we try and take advantage of every minute we can with our babies. Family time is our most important time. I thank God daily for the love that is shared in our home. We are blessed.

Halloween 2009

I know I'm almost a week late on this, but we've had a pretty busy/eventful week. Backing up to last week, Halloween was pretty yucky weather here. Rain & cold! So, we didn't do a whole lot of trick-or-treating, nor did we take a whole lot of pics. The few we did take were @ the Brinkley's Halloween party. We had a really good time w/ lots of good food & good friends. We were thankful to have some place dry & warm to go that night!

Hayden wouldn't go near this Eagle! All the kiddos, some of which had already changed out of their wet & cold costumes!

A little apple-bobbing! (A first for Hayden & Gracie.)
Success!Big sister's turn...

Eating her prize...
Like I said, not a lot of pics, but we had a really good time!

A couple of cute funnies from the kids...

Hayden sat on his foot too long (I'm guessing it went to sleep on him), and he came to me telling me his foot was "cranky". Too funny!

Gracie made a list of "Questions for God". Some of her questions were, "What do you do in a bad situation?" & "What are the stars made out of?" One of those insights into a child's mind, written in her child-like handwriting, mis-spelled words & all..priceless to me. :)

And last, but not least, on a not-so-chipper note...this little baby boy is trying make an early appearance. Everything has gone so well until this week. Long story short, I am starting to have pre-term labor again & still have 6 weeks to go. I am now on modified bedrest & getting steroid shots for the baby, in addition to the weekly progesterone shots I have been getting for the last 4 months. Please say a prayer he will be healthy , regardless of when he arrives. That's it for the Thompson update for now! :)

Firsts for Hayden

This is a busy week full of Halloween & Fall Fun! Yesterday Hayden had his 1st field trip w/ his preschool class. He was totally confused as to why he wasn't at school, and what all his friends were doing @ the same place outside of school. It was really funny. The field trip was to Country Gardens Nursery. They toured the greenhouses, planted a pansy to bring home, went on a hayride, petted the animals, picked out a pumpkin & had snacks.

Hayden & his class getting ready for the tour

Learning about plants

Planting a pansy. Hayden actually spent more time playing w/ the rocks. He is all-boy!A visit to the petting zoo.

And again, he was not interested in feeding the animals or petting them. He was busy chasing these dogs around...
Hey. What's under this flap?
He did like petting the baby chick. Headed out on a hayride w/ his little buddy, Noah.

And today was his Halloween party at preschool. He was so excited to wear his Darth Vader costume. He didn't have the full costume on, as I didn't want him to lose all the pieces before Halloween even gets here! To kick off the party all the kids get to parade through the narthex before the party, while the adoring parents ooh & aah & snap pics. Very red-carpet! LOL...
After the costume parade, they headed to their room to decorate Halloween bags w/ Halloween stickers.

Then it was time for a Halloween story from one of the Grandma's. For some reason, all the kids were looking the opposite direction of the storyteller in this pic.Snacktime!

Gracie has had Red Ribbon week this week @ school. Each day has had a theme such as, Career Day, where Gracie was an artisit, Western Day, Tacky Day, etc. Today was crazy hair day & here she is w/ crazy hair! What a fun day & we still have 2 more days of Halloween festivities so I'll be posting again soon! Have a safe & happy Halloween!! :)

Fall Fun

Every year Uncle Tom comes over and carves a pumpkin for the kids. Saturday night, we went to eat and did our annual Pumpkin Carving.

Gracie was really into the whole process. She & Hayden attempted to draw some faces on the pumpkin, but Chris ended up doing one he found on the computer.

Cleaning it out

The little Pumpkin Patch on our front porch. The kids decorated the small ones @ the school Fall Festival Friday night which I didn't take any pics of. (Bad Mom I know!)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little update on Baby Bump #3. I am 32 weeks now & all is well. I have a feeling this little guy is going to come early as well. I will stop the progesterone shots @ 35 weeks. Just a few weeks away! He is measuring big already. We are so excited to meet him. The nursery is coming right along as well. Here are some pics we took Sunday of the baby bump & the rest of the fam.

Gracie took this pic so it's a little off center, but it's a good pic of Hayden & Chris I thought.

Happy Fall Ya'll! :)

Oh baby!

Saturday was a fun baby-filled day. That morning a friend & I went to the hospital in Atlanta to see another friend who had had a baby a few days earlier. She was so sweet & cute! Then, I came home, ate lunch, & loaded up the fam to head to the hospital where I plan to deliver our new addition. This is my 1st time at this hospital, so I signed us up for a tour of the maternity facility & a sibling class for the kids. It's a free class where they talk to the kids about having a new baby in the house, etc. It was really fun! The kids got "Big Brother & Big Sister" t-shirts, snacks, & books to read to the baby.

Picking out a baby to hold during the classHayden talked the poor teacher's head off. He was full of questions, raising his hand to answer every question, etc. He is my little chatterbox. Whereas Gracie is shy, quiet, & you can't hardly get her to even answer a question. So opposite!

Putting the baby's hat back onGracie held her baby the whole time, even on the tour.

Every time Hayden answered a question, he turned around & gave us this goofy smile & a big cheesy thumbs up. It was hilarious! He had everyone laughing.
On the tour

After that we went & killed some time @ Toys R Us then off to dinner. We really like to go to this place in Fayetteville called Upscale Pizza when we're over that way. They happened to have the car from the movie, "Days of Thunder" w/ Tom Cruise out front. Of course Chris had to get pics of the kids w/ it!

Future Race Car Driver??Just had to share this funny thing Hayden did @ church Sunday morning. In between class & church he had to go potty, so I took him w/ me to the ladies room. He's still young enough to go w/ Mom. So, we walk in, there's a few ladies in there, along w/ some girls he already knew. As we walk in, he very loudly & cheerfully says, "Hello girls!" Everyone was cracking up at him. He's already a little ladies man!

Coweta County Fair

Thursday night was a gorgeous night so we planned to meet some friends for dinner & a night at the fair. Funny thing was the King's were supposed to meet us as well, but ended up at the hospital having a baby! Congrats guys!!

Anywho-after dinner @ Redneck Gourmet on the court square we took off. The kids all had a ball, riding rides, eating cotton candy (& funnel cakes for the adults!), visiting the fire engine, & the petting zoo.

This is the 3rd year in a row that we have gone (I think). Gracie has always loved going down this slide, no matter how small she was.

Gracie, Reagan, & Sophie coming down the slide
Can you tell they are having fun?Hayden waving at us from the roller coaster

More roller coasters!
We were glad the May family members were able go with us!!! Josh and Cassidy just added to the fun!!!

Can you see my husband in the back acting crazy?
Vroom Vroom!
Let's go racin' boys.....

This one cracks me up!

We had a blast & look forward to carrying on the tradition next year with another one in tow! :)

Gracie's Littlest Pet Shop B'day Party!!!!

Our little Gracie Belle turned 7 last week & I can't believe it! We had a great, but super busy week. Nana left Tuesday, Gracie's b-day was on Thursday & I sent cupcakes to school w/ her to celebrate. Then, on Saturday, she had her Littlest Pet Shop b-day party w/ 8 little friends! Each guest got their own Pet & decorated a a "house" for their pet.
Chris did the decorations...all out as usual! I know where my little artist Gracie gets her skills from...and it 'aint me!
Got little brother out of the house (thanks Gramma!) & waiting for the guests to arrive.

The girls are decorating their Littlest Pet Shops...
Presents galore... what more could a girl ask for!
Instead of musical chairs they hopped like frogs on lily pads.
The we played toss the animal in the dog bowl.
Freeze Dancing!
And the girls especially loved eating their "little" cookies & ice cream out of big dog bowls!
"Chowing Down"
Gracie is not a fan of cake or cupcakes, hence the little festive cookies!

Notice a couple of the girls really got into it, pulled their hair back, & dove in face first!

Time for presents!

I loved the homemade cards she got this year. They said things like, "BFF", "I wish we lived next door", & "Hope you're having fun @ your party...that's what parties are for you know!" Too cute!!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Gracie Belle!!

A Visit From Nana

A week ago today my Mom came to visit from Texas. She just left on Tuesday & it already seems like too long since we've seen her! We had a wonderful time & squeezed in so much! On Friday Chris & Mom went to the school to have lunch w/ Gracie & let Mom see her new school. I stayed home w/ Hayden because he had MRSA Staph infection on his leg....again!Gracie wanted Mom & Chris to come back to her room & watch her do Math. She is quite proud of her Math book this year.

Mom helped me so much while she was here. We had to convert the guest room into the beginnings of a nursery & it was a lot of work! I had a bedroom suit in there & used the closet & drawers for storage for old tax stuff, kid's off-season clothes, & tons of junk! So, we had to clean all that out, remove a wallpaper border, move stuff around from room to room & re-organize. I am so thankful she was here to help me do all that!!!

Nana & Gracie tearing off wallpaper.

The whole family pitched in!
Saturday morning Mom, Gracie, & I went to a baby shower.

Then, Mom & I went shopping. She got this new toy chest for Hayden's room. She also got me stuff for the nursery & the baby & decor for Hayden's room while she was here. She really spoiled us!Sunday we were going to have a family party @ our house to celebrate Gracie's b-day while Mom was here. Since Hayden had MRSA, no one wanted to come to the house. So, we took the party to Olive Garden, Gracie's favorite restaurant. Hayden had been on antibiotics for several days @ that point & could leave the house with his wound covered & not infect anyone. Gracie wanted pics of herself with everyone in the family.

With all her loot.Opening presents after dinner!
On the way home in the car that night someone said something funny that made Mom laugh. Hayden turned to her and said, as serious as could be, "Laugh it up fuzzball!" We all burst out laughing & I asked where in the world did he hear that from? He is obsessed with Star Wars & he & Chris love to watch it together. Evidently that's a line from Star Wars that he picked up. Hilarious!

Gracie & "fuzzball"
Speaking of Star Wars, Chris made this Hans Solo gun & some star ship (I don't know all the names) for Hayden out of cardboard & boxes. He loves them & thinks Dad is the greatest. So do I. ~wink~

I went to the Dr yesterday and am doing well @ 24 weeks. The weekly progesterone shots are a God-send! We all miss Nana & will be posting soon about our little Gracie turning 7 this week!
